Are You Working For Pharaoh?
Exo. 3:7-10 And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.
The children of Israel were under bondage in Egypt. God heard their cry and he was going to bring them out. Many today cry unto God for help but they don’t want out of the world, or Egypt.
In Exo. 5:5-18 Pharaoh thought that the children of Israel had too much time on their hands and that is why they wanted to go and sacrifice unto their God. So he had told the taskmasters to make them get their own straw to make the brick. He put a heavier load upon them. Satan is doing the same thing today. He gets people involved in outside activities and it hinders them coming to the house of God to worship. Put God first. You won’t make it to heaven if he isn’t first… Who are you working for?
Verse 20-21 in Exodus 5. The people met Moses and Aaron and they begin to blame them. Just like people today. They want to blame the minister. The man who was sent to bring them out is the one they are mad at! (Are you in Egypt?)
Gen. 15:13-14 And he said unto Abraham, Know of a surety that thy seedshall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, who they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
God knew they would be in Egypt but he promised to bring them out with a lot of substance. If you come out of Egypt God will take care of you also. Notice they were serving the Egyptians, when you are in the world you are serving sin.
II Thess. 3:10-11 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
Who are you working for: Do you work in the church or do you sow discord?
II Cor. 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing: and I will receive you.
The world and God’s people can never mix. The Bible says to come out from among them and be ye separate. You cannot work for the world and work for the Lord. The benefits of working for the Lord out weighs the benefits of working for the world. God will bring you out of Egypt, the world, and will take you out of bondage and you can work for God!
